Ekey's Creates Worldwide Floral Site Honored in 1999 for it's innovation, Ekey Florist &
Greenhouses, 104 East St. Clair Street and Ekey's Garden Centre, 1640 Market Street Ext., now trumpets its flowers, plants, trees and shrubs on the web. Ekey's has joined an exclusive list of
long-time, highly experienced businesses that allow friends and customers to browse through the store on the web. When Emil Ekey started the business in 1916, the computer had not yet been invented, yet 84 years later the
business attracts not only customers from Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York but also from around the world. Most orders are still delivered to Warren and the surrounding area, but third generation owner, Robert Ekey, hopes to
expand its customer base by offering unique items created only by Ekey's. "We have Ekey's Black Gold Soil Mix that garden gurus can't get enough of," said Ekey. "This mix is our
personal standard of excellence just like our grower's bulb, fresh cut flowers such as rubrim, hybrid lilies and of course freesia." "Our plants are homegrown, conditioned for this
climate. Extremely poular are the bulb gardens that bring spring to our homes even during the winter and then a second time when planted outside. To celebrate the millenium, we are growing 20 new varieties of
annuals; stunning geraniums with verigated foliage, colorful new guinea impatients, unique verbena and begonias. We are on the cutting edge when it comes to not only annuals but also perennials. Each year we add
and expand our perennial offering and also water garden plants." One of the reason's Ekey received the 1999 Warren County entrepreneur award was for the educational programming - sharing with
the community its talents and expertise. Free classes are offered every Spring and Fall. Anyone attending 6 classes in 2000 will receive an Ekey's Garden Guru t-shirt. Mark your

Horticulturist Roberta Ward presenting "New Millenium annuals ans Perennials" followed by floral paper making on the wrap-around pouches and awards for identifying Ekey's Garden Museum mystery items; Saturday, June 10, Ekey's will
have its increasingly popular program on water plants, ponds and fountains presented by Chris Brown, Landscape Architect. All programs are held at Ekey's Garden Centre, 1640 Markey Street Ext., Rt. 62, by the Warren Mall -
